2nd Annual Dave Tribolet Medal
The 2nd Annual Dave Tribolet Medal for the best player from the PCA season was held on Friday the 28th May. The medal was won in a close count which went right down to the last round by Kings Langely fast bowler Blake Benge. Blake edged out fellow PCA cricketers Matt Ward, Nikshep Mekala and Hayden Goulstone.
The medal honours the life of Dave Tribolet who was a tremendous player and adminstrator in the Parramatta and Auburn cricket districts as well as a long standing volunteer for Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW.
State Selection for Academy Stars
Parramatta Cricket Academy stars Jacob Workman and Hamish Starr where honoured with selection in the NSW U16 Cricket Academy. Both are outstanding fast bowling prospects and play with Parramatta DCC in the Sydney Grade competition. These boys will train in the off season with a dozen or so elite cricketers in the hope of playing in national competitions in coming seasons.
Congratulations to both boys.
Two More Premierships for the Academy
Our Parramatta Cricket Academy players backed up their stellar 2015 success with 2 more premierships in the senior mens competition in the PDCA. The B4 and B10 sides both defeated their respective opponents in fine style at Bernie Mullane Reserve. These teams comprised almost entirely of 14 and 15 years olds drew praise from the more seasoned male opponents for the their skill and tenacity.
Captains Paul Calvert (B4) and Peter Zann (B10) could not have been prouder of th boys and the development they made across the season. Well done and congratulations.
